The Brazilian giants maintained their supremacy in the region, but they were pushed to their limit throughout the competition.
MIBR came out on top of CBCS Elite League Season 1, the first Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament of the year in South America, following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sharks. It was the tenth straight tournament win in South America for the MIBR team, who added 1600 RMR points to the 80 that they obtained by topping the region's standings in 2020.
Playing their first tournament back home since picking up Raphael "exit" Lacerda, MIBR made it out of the Swiss stage with a 3-1 record following a defeat against Sharks, and they were made to work hard by Liberty in the quarter-final stage before taking down Bravos 2-0 in a one-sided semi-final affair.

Gustavo "yel" Knittel's side drew first blood in the best-of-three final with a close win on Mirage, where tournament MVP Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes reigned supreme in the second half (1.96 rating and 132 ADR) to lead the team's efforts on the CT side.
Sharks responded on Vertigo with strong performances from Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves and Romeu "zevy" Rocco, and they looked primed to win the series as they raced to a 13-7 lead on Inferno. However, a 1v2 clutch from yel in a messy eco round that saw Fillipe "pancc" Martins disconnect from the server was enough to turn the game on its head and shift the momentum back towards MIBR, who made great use of a double AWP setup and went on a dominant 9-0 run.
